Dear Customers and Friends, here is the latest status update on our application to the Wyckoff Planning Board:

On 11/10 we attended the Wyckoff Planning Board meeting. The Board deemed our application complete - YEAAA!!!! As promised, we had been put on the agenda for us to present our application to the public. Our Attorney opened and outlined the basis for the application and turned it over to me to testify on our plans. I took 30 minutes in answering questions on the operation of the BBQ. One of the items that came up is a requirement for the second smoker that we proposed to be on stand-by in case we need to take the main smoker for cleaning or maintenance. The Board Chairman suggested that we look into redesigning the back portion of the site in order to expedite the application. We had agreed to look into it and addressing some of the concerns from the Shade Tree Committee. We are scheduled for the December meeting where we will have the Architect and the Site Engineer testify and we will present an updated plan. It looks like we are finally making some progress. We will keep you posted!

On 10/27 we met with the Design Committee and I have some good news to report. We presented our design for the second time and after we agreed to address some of the design related items, the committee agreed to approve the design and let the Planning Board hear our application. At this point we have an updated landscaping plan that we submitted for the review by the Shade-tree committee and we are hoping that the Planning Board can deem out application complete and hear our application on the 10th of November. On 10/13, we met with the Planning Board for the second time and the Board failed to deem our application complete once again. We are hoping that the Board will be able to get all the required reports from the Wyckoff Design and Shade-Tree Committees in time for the November meeting, so we can be deemed complete. From what we understand, this is highly unusual and we do not understand all the reasoning for these actions. The Board had offered that if it can receive all the reports for the next meeting, we could be deemed complete and hold our initial public hearing at the same time. At this time we are proposing to reconstruct the structure that will comply with all the latest Building Codes and provide for wheelchair accessibility. We would also have the entire parking lot redesigned to provide for landscaping, lighting, new sign and a flag pole. We would also be putting in curbs and sidewalks. The place should be absolutely great but we are not sure how long it will take to get the permission from the Town allowing us to start construction. At this point it has been 4 months since we applied and we are not even at the starting line yet. We will keep you updated on our progress.
